Businesses reach customers with LED digital signs
April 27, 2016 — Two electronic message center (EMC) digital signs from Luminous were honored in the 2016 Watchfire LED Sign Awards. The awards were established to recognize Watchfire dealer partners who showcase the capabilities of outdoor digital advertising in superior sign design. The award recognizes those who have displayed excellence in effectiveness, design and legibility in digital messages.

Two message centers from Luminous were honored. Heartland Credit Union and Stange Plumbing & Design, both in Hutchinson, KS, were recognized as Silver award winners. Both sign projects were handled by Jeff Brewer, Senior Account Manager. Brewer has 31 years of sign industry experience with Luminous.
Heartland Credit Union assistant VP says second digital sign was a “no-brainer”
The LED sign for Heartland Credit Union is a 19mm message center that was installed Feb. 25, 2015.
“The sign in the photo is our second Watchfire electronic LED message center,” said Darren Werth, assistant vice president of sales and marketing at Heartland Credit Union. “When we decided to build our newest branch on North Main St., it was a no-brainer that our new sign would incorporate a message center display. Main Street carries a considerable amount of traffic and being able to market our goods and services to the motoring traffic passing by this sign every day makes for a very efficient and valuable marketing tool for Heartland Credit Union.”
Stange Plumbing & Design says use of video on digital sign attracts new business
The LED sign for Stange Plumbing was installed November 12, 2015. This 12mm message center is an upgrade from a 16mm Watchfire LED sign.
“The saying ‘a picture is worth a thousand words’ is so true,” said Karen Drake, owner/designer at Stange Plumbing & Design. “We are starting a project in a couple of weeks that is a family room with custom bookcases and a stone fireplace. I asked our client how she selected Stange Plumbing & Design and she told me that she saw our sign with the display of our gas logs burning in a fireplace. She said it looked so real that she had to come into our showroom to inquire about it.”
“We run videos and still pictures and it is a great advertising tool,” Drake said. I would highly recommend a digital sign; I feel it brings projects and ideas to a personal level with our existing and new clients.”
